As a participant in Claris Health’s Every Mother’s Advocate (EMA) parenting program, Vanessa found support as she navigated the uncertainties of her first pregnancy. Like many first-time moms, she felt both excitement and the weight of responsibility. “Being pregnant the first time was life altering,” she shares. “Being a mother was all I ever wanted, but it’s such a huge responsibility.”
In those early days, she learned something many moms come to realize: there isn’t a perfect roadmap. “You learn as you go,” she says—a truth that helped her move from uncertainty toward confidence over time.
As her family grew, so did her appreciation for the unique personalities of each of her children. One of her favorite parts of motherhood has been discovering who they are and how they reflect pieces of her.“My favorite part of becoming a mother was being able to adjust to each of my child to their likes and personalities, also seeing a part of me in each of them,” she shares. “It’s growing with them and being so proud of their accomplishments.”
Through every stage, Vanessa has embraced motherhood as a process of learning and growing together. Her perspective is grounded in grace and balance, recognizing that both she and her children are continually becoming.
“We’re growing and learning with them… parenthood is a big blessing.”
She encourages mothers to lead with patience and a positive mindset, trusting that even in the challenges, they are shaping something beautiful.
