What To Know when Booking an Ultrasound Visit

1. Who Can Get an Ultrasound?

  • Claris Health offers limited obstetric ultrasounds, specifically intended to confirm pregnancy location, cardiac activity, and estimate gestational age—typically for early, first-trimester scans—not for comprehensive diagnostic purposes. These follow national AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) guidelines.
  • To qualify, you must:
    • Have a confirmed positive pregnancy test,
    • Be at least 6 weeks pregnant,
    • Not have already had an ultrasound elsewhere or started prenatal care with another provider.

2. Cost & Accessibility

  • These ultrasound services are free to qualifying patients—regardless of insurance status, immigration status, or ability to pay.
  • Claris offers same-day appointments, making access more flexible and convenient.
